GM has unveiled concept GMC Hummer X models in pickup truck and SUV body styles. These models indicate a possible direction for the brand’s development: more compact, lighter, and more affordable off-road SUVs with serious off-road potential.
Both new concepts feature a rugged design, independent suspension, increased ground clearance, and large off-road tires. The concepts are built for challenging terrain, with short overhangs and high off-road capability. Recycled materials are used in the construction, and components are designed for easy replacement.
For now, these are only design projects, but they hint at the company’s interest in a segment currently dominated by the Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler. Both concepts show what the future of the Hummer lineup could look like.
